I have clients that run Mozilla Mail, and I would like them to use postfix to send email. We have a postfix server (192.168.0.5), and we would like to use that.

When we point our smtp to 192.168.0.5 nothing happens on Mozilla. We dont see any log entries on the server either.

All I see is

May 15 16:15:55 debian postfix/smtpd[2092]: fatal: open database /etc/postfix/access.db: No such file or directory
May 15 16:15:56 debian postfix/master[2077]: warning: process /usr/lib/postfix/smtpd pid 2092 exit status 1
May 15 16:15:56 debian postfix/master[2077]: warning: /usr/lib/postfix/smtpd: bad command startup -- throttling

Here's a little system administration philosophy:

Fix all error messages unless you know what they mean and you know you can ignore them.

This:
Code:
fatal: open database /etc/postfix/access.db: No such file or directory

Fix it.

Thanks! I fixed that problem by reruning a postaliases type command to rebuild my database.

Now I can send mail fine from 127.0.0.1, but how can I have other clients use this has a relay host?

thnx
