Using Micros MC40 (or similar) for Product Management Inventory Counting

Micros 5.x Can anyone walk me through setting up a MC40 handheld or similar device just to run the Product Management Inventory feature on them?
Think I have read all 327 feature reference manuals etc from Micros and can't see to find this updated for 5.x
If I need to install POS operations and call it from there that is fine as well.
