I am going to use a small video clip behind some animation...I found a source of Video clips online that offer Quicktime Sorenson files. I know I can import Quick time videos in flash....But I haven't heard of Quicktime Sorenson. Does anyone know if this will be something I can import in Flash. I'm pretty sure I can, I just want to make sure before I purchase the file.

Also, does anyone know how to trace bitmap on videos in Flash. I've been able to manipulate them after they are converted to MC symbols...But its only the hue, and size/scew I can change. I know it can be done, but I've not been able to figure it out yet. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sorenson is a type of compression... like Divx or Radius.

As for tracing bitmap on videos in Flash, you can't apply that to a video.

Ok, I have seen trace bitmap on images that were, maybe, at one time videos. In fact, there is an fla on flashkit.com were someone has done that very thing, in the brief description of the fla they say they used the trace bitmap on a small video clip...but, alas there are no instructions that come with the fla. Just the loop of a man turning his head and removing his glasses. You should check it out...its pretty cool. I have also seen some major design houses use it on their sites. So, if you can not use trace bitmap on "videos" then how is it being done? There's no sarcasim in that question, just want to know the process.

Thanks for your help

If you can read German (or a google bad translation!), try this:

And you can allways have a look at Flix, that'll do it for you:

Trace bitmapdoes work on video if you're using video the Flash 5 way - i.e. importing the video as a series of bitmaps which take up a frame each. So you could go back to doing it that way (import Quicktime into Flash, export as a sequence of images then re-import the images and use trace bitmap).

You can't trace bitmaps directly on MZX video but you could always add a blank layer above the video and manually trace the lines you want with the pen and line tools.
