I am running a Tiger Powerbook at work and want to access my email accounts via Mail. I am connected to a Windows 2000 network which acts as a proxy server to the internet. I have to specify a specific port for traffic to use.

I have setup the proxy information in System Preferences - Network and I can get onto the internet with no problems. However, Mail cannot connect to either of the POP3 accounts.

Is there anyone that can tell me if there is something I am missing? I am setting up the proxy information in the right place?

Thanks in advance.

Try Mail Preferences/Accounts/Outgoing Mail server/Server settings.

You might also have to configure some proxy settings in Network prefs - ask the server administrator.
