Hi,

first of all, we want to use load manager in XP like MF1.8 done in our architecture:

I have a XPe farm with 12 servers + DC.
- 6 servers are for production only on a location A
- 6 servers are for backup only on a location B

Users use published applications on location A by default.

We want the location B available only if the location A is shutdown or crashed.... and it must be automatic !!

Then, for test, we have published applications on the 2 locations servers but Load Manager doesn't implement (like MF1.8) a virtual load (or I didn't find it) and users can start application from A & B location :-(

We want only 1 icon for an application (not app1 and app1-backup)

Does anyone can help me.

thanks

No one can help me ??

I'm looking for a solution on the web all the we and find nothing usuable....

Thanks

Load Manager works pretty much the same way that Load Balancing did in MF1.8.

Switching from one server to another in case of failure is not a feature of Load Management - all LM does is measure server loads at logon based on rules you have created, and performs a kind of routing operation at that point. It is not fault-tolerance or clustering.

There is a reconnect feature in the newer clients, so if you use those together with LM, you get an effective fault-tolerance - but, of course, the original session is lost.

Maybe if you include a rule based on IP addresses in your LMG the rule would work better across locations - I take it this is a single-zone farm? I haven't tested LM across zones (or can't remember if it's possible!)

Hope this is helpful
