Using Lines for Masking

Hi all,

Ive just spend an age doing a detailed line drawing in flash using lines and ovals, I intended it to be used in a mask but someone has just told me that you cant use lines for creating masks.
Can i export the lines somehow to another application to convert them into something flash can use to do masks?????

What ive done is created an outline of an image on a layer and then tried to use a layer with a gradient fill with tween so that the outline drawing would look like its glinting over the image.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

You can do "Convert Lines to Fills" within Flash.
