I'm running windows 2003 server and on it is a webserver and a file share. There exists an Active Directory in the company, but this computer is not on it. Is it possible to use the Active Directory w/o putting the server on it, or even use the LDAP server for access control? I would use the network user accounts instead of local accounts. I am currently using the LDAP server for authentication on a linux webserver using PHP scripts. Is the same thing available on W2k3 for the webserver or file shares?
