Hi,
I have an ISDN line and sometimes people ask me for the number of the ISDN line so they can send me data (graphics usually). Can anyone tell me how I can use my ISDN line to send data? Or even receive data? Do I need to get my hands on some specific software for the task? Currently using Win98 OS.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Regards, Lavaghman

I assume you have a 2 line Isdn(128k) right but you should not need software on top of your nomral line to get in the internet

Thanks for ur reply but i'm still a bit unsure.
If someone gives me their ISDN number which is like a phone number and tell me to send them on a specific file, how do i do it?
Thanks for your help,
Lavaghman

Treat the ISDN line as if it were a phone line. Which, in effect it is - it's got ISDN TAs at the end of it instead of modems, and the data goes through quicker, but your method of connection is the same as a phone line.

One of the 2 machines needs to be a RAS (remote access server) - the other machine then dialsup the machine's number (same as though you're connecting to an ISP), then transfers the file in whatever way you've setup... this could be an FTP server on the recipient's machine, or by using shared network drives.
