I have set up IAS to use as a radius server for my cisco devices. I've moved on Cisco device from my old linux-based radius server and pointed it at my IAS server. logins into the cisco device fail and I see the following in the IAS log:

10.10.X.1X,username,06/19/2008,11:00:58,IAS,IAS-Servername,5,0,87,tty0,61,0,31,async,4,10.10.2.15,4108,10.10.2.15,4116,9,4128,Test-Router-2811-01,4155,1,4154,Use Windows authentication for all users,4129,domain\username,4127,1,4149,Connections to other access servers,25,311 1 10.10.1.35 06/18/2008 12:37:24 5,4130,domain/OU/user's full name,4136,1,4142,0

I don't actually see any sort of error message in this log entry. apparently, the cisco router is sending its login attempt but either its not getting any acknowledgement or something else is going wrong.

I've tried using standard RADIUS and Cisco for the Client-Vendor setting.

any ideas would be appreciated.

thanks in advance!

figured it out, needed to enable CHAP within Routing and Remote Access.
