Hello.

Because of compatiblity issues, I had to stop using Procomm and now utilize Hyperterm. Everythign is fine, except I can't display a list of information without ' Enter <CR> to continue' popping up between every line. is there a command to enter that will eliminate this and just let the program output the information line after line?

example:

Plis
2-Dial
1-Display
From Dial- 202
To Dial - 3799

Any specific data field (type ? for help)

Dial num Type Port Short and Full names
209 SDT 0/0/5 Blank: Blank

(Enter <cr> to continue)

usually, it would just print up a list of all the following numbers until the data stream is complete..

I miss procomm!!

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Use SecureCRT works just as great as Procom.
I don,t like to use Hyperterm.

does a space instead of the enter give you a page instead of a line... i used procomm for tadiran back in the dos days without much issue. i had to midify my keyboard if i remember right but it worked.. your right dyperterm is a pain

This has nothing to do which application you use to program with.

This is a useful feature which can be turned on and off through the command prompt. It stops pages of info streaming passed if you want to check things line by line.

To turn it on press [CTRL] D and do the same to disable. Below is cut directly from the manual. There are several other commands that do similar things.

ps I've got a new forum created specifically for Tadiran systems at
Let me know if you need more help as I know the Tadiran systems very well.

CTRL] D Often a displayed mode contains too many entries or tables to be
displayed on one screen.
To view a subject one entry (screen) at a time, use the [CTRL] D
switch.
To cancel, use [CTRL] D again as a toggle switch. While this
mode is active, after displaying the first screen of entry, the PI
pauses. To continue viewing the next screen of entry, press
<CR>. When the [CTRL] D switch is activated, the following
messages are displayed:
activate: ***ENTRY BY ENTRY DISPLAY***
cancel: ***SCROLLING DISPLAY***

The biggest problem with hyperterminal is the ability to look back.
On procomm you can set your ability to look bak 1300 pages.
On hyperterminal, even using ctrl d, the pages get jumbled up at some point, making it impossible to see wher you have been.
What was the incompatability to Procomm?

metballnut, by reading the very first post zadeylove says that the problem was that it was always showing ' Enter <CR> to continue' after each entry. My reply to that was that he/she needs to press CTRL-D to turn the scrolling display back on. Did you read the post?

And yes, Hyperterminal won't go back a long way but if you know what you're doing you shouldn't need to. Turn on trace to file if needed. Procomm has the be bought, Hyperterminal is free and is on all Windows PCs. I prefer Procomm too but Hyperterminal works perfectl fine.

Thank you all for your responses. I (she) am very grateful. Distrubedone - It did the trick!! I have a few taddy systems that I work on, so I will def be stopping by your forum--woohoo!!

Metballnut, I do agree that scrolling back is a pain, but I've never needed to look back. do miss Procomm but as when it comes down to it, I just need the job done. I don't know why the different software would affect data display, but I'm glad that there's a way around it.

;)
