Using Globals in ODBC Select in DTS Package

I am trying to read from ODBC in a DTS Package using a global parameter. I've created a global and, in the transfromation, I have 'where var = ?' in the select from a DB2 table. It gives me a CLI0100E Wrong number of parameters (I only have one).

Is it not possible to use a global against an ODBC Connection?
