Hi,
Over the last 2 years we have been using ghost to rollout our Windows 2000 PC's when they need to be formated and am a bit confused about SIDS & GUIDS for these PC'S.
First, what is the difference between a SID and GUID?
I always create the image while the PC is in a workgroup (nver make the image after the PC has joined the domain), so when this image is restored on other PC's, it's SID/GUID is created when it join our domain.
Is this correct, will the PC have differnet ID's if they have joined the domain totally separatly to each other? We have never had any problems, but are migrating from an NT4 domain to Win 2003 domain and just want peace of mind that we won't run into any problems regrading this issue.
