I understand the basic logic of using genxtab for creating an array or table to produce a report. My problem is much more basic than that. I find no documentation on how to make the application start. If I try to open it by using do or run from the menu I get an immediate "can't find description, were is zz?" How do I get it to go into some sort of settup mode so that I can substitute my databases and field names for what already exists?

Hi,

As best I remember, I got GenXTab working by first using the Query builder (Run New Query) to create a query, and then using the option to output to a crosstab.
The query builder then generated a program (.qpr file) which you can view by pressing the see SQL button, which contains the query, but also a couple of lines that call GenXTab. From that, you can see how to use it.

I'll admit however, that I've just looked at a different installation of FoxPro, and can't see the option...
