Using FTP in Gentran4 for NT to GXS

I have Gentran 4 for NT and trying to connect/send EDI data to GXS using FTP scripts within GT mailbox configuration.

Has anyone used this method of transmission on GT4?

I seem to be getting an error which, I think, it relates to the "put" equivalent command in ftp. I have been told there may be parameter mismatches. I have used a DOS prompt to manually send via ftp and this worked perfectly.
I used "put filename %recv_id%apref%sender_ref%e"

Error is "Requested action not taken. Signon to Entparser failed".
Has anyone come across this error before.
