Can any one tell me how I go about setting up alink to another crystal report file via this:-

Right Click a field,Format Editor,Hyperlink...Another Crystal Report file?

Ever time I look at it, it is greyed out. The Crystal help book says this option is available under certain conditions but doesnt tell me what they are. :(

If any one could shed some light on this then that would be great :)

If you are just trying to run another Crystal Report from within an existing report why not use an On Demand Subreport.

I know what you mean--I've read that this option is available only when no object in the report is selected--but this is a catch-22 it seems, since without selecting an object, the format editor and access to the hyperlink screen is not available!

You could create a hyperlink to another Crystal report by using the file option and then use the browse function, and change the file type to "all files" and then Crystal reports are available to you.

As Ian suggested, an on-demand subreport is another option, and according to the "help" section, hyperlinking to another Crystal report is the equivalent of creating an on-demand subreport.
