Using Flash to Launch Another Application

Is it possible to have a link in an SWF file launch another application? I thought I read a while back on the Macromedia site that they had disabled this feature to keep malicious coders from using SWF's to cause harm. For example, if I had a software tutorial made in Flash, and after explaining how to do something, the viewer could click a link, which would open the software that is the topic of the tuorial, so that they could try it themselves. Is this do-able?

No, from a disk that would include the software and tutorials.

You can use a projector file, with fscommand and "exec".
New security rules do apply and you need to have a "fscommand" subfolder, among other stuff...

well, what I was thinking was linking to the program (C:/Program Files/Macromedia/Dreamweaver MX/dreamweaver.exe) or (C:/WINDOWS/......./paint.INK) but I haven't tried and that is probably what the security fix does but who knows?

If the .exe is not located in the fscommand subfolder, you must use a batch file (.bat), also inserted in the fscommand subfolder, to specify the different path to that .exe.
