A friend has a band and they would like to put some songs on their website for people to listen to but not to download.

I've looked around and noticed that a lot of the sites that do this use Flash Player.

If someone could contact me and try to explain how to do this i would be very greatful.

I saw one that was really coold where it listed the songs by name and you could just click on the song title and it would play it, this was all contained within the Flash Player window.

Thanks for any and all help.

Thing is, if they're dynamically loaded in .mp3's, they all end up in the user's cache where he can easily retrieve them...

If they're embedded in a .swf, it's a little harder, but those .swfs still end up in the user's cache, and with some free extracting software, again, the sounds can still be retrieved...

So are you telling me there is no way to put music on my site for people to listen to without downloading it?

No. I'm saying that if you were trying to keep people from getting hold of the tracks, Flash won't give you that...

As for Flash mp3 players, there are tons of them out there, just google "Flash+mp3 player"...

Or start with this great soundObject tutorial...

And more precisely...
