Using Flash MX Guide Bar feature

I am using the Flash MX Guide bar feature to animate objects along a specified path. I have no problem making that work, however, when I draw a path line for my objects (using the Smooth setting option) Flash still seems only to draw a jagged line, resulting in jerky moving objects on the screen. Am I missing some setting or feature that allows me to create a smooth line for my objects to follow?

Change the settings with the drawing tool...

look on the tool bar under options

Thanks you for responding. Can you be more specific about what to look for? I haven't seen anything which might change how the pencil tool (required for adding a guide line) can be changed. However, I could be blind!

when you select the pencil on the tools bar (tools) look at the bottom - you should see a tab "options" change the only option there...
