Hi, we are a county government with a web site that was created using MicroSoft's InterDev. At this point we want to utilize some Front page features like "searching the site" and "counters". It seems from what Ive been reading that we need to be developing using frountpage as well as haveing our server support Front Page extensions. Is this so?
Also, with InterDev we can FTP our files to our server. Now I see we have to "Publish" them useing F.P. Again this seems to be saying that we need Front Page on the computers being used to develop the web site as well as haveing the extensions installed on the server. Is this correct? We want to be able to continue useing InterDev for development.
The funny thing is we also have a server being used to host the same site as a INTRANET. When we simply "SAVE" our files to this server (which has F.P. extensions turned on) the front page features like search and counter work fine. Even tho we do not "publish" the files to that server using front page.
Any information anyone can provide would be great. Thanks.
