using Exel as data base

I have to create a report with excel data base. can any one help me the steps how to do this and how to set up the data for each coloum.

if it moves and should not used Duck Tape
if does not move and should used WD-40

Save it in table format, with column headings across the top and the data in each column.

Then use either an ODBC connection or under create new onnection select database files.
