Hi,
Ok I know someone must have asked this before, I can find some refrences, but not the right bits to get me started.

I have lots of tables of lots of data in lots of excel spreadsheets. (well it keeps me busy). This data refers to items on a mainframe database via Extra!

I want the users to be able to click on a cell in excel, and the part number (alphanumeric) residing in that cell to be sent to extra (along with the lookup commands) to enable the user to read that item's info on the mainframe database.

Can someone point me in the right direction please.

Start with the FAQ.

How do I use VB(A) to manipulate attachmate (6.5+)?

Thanks for that,
now got some bits of it working.
Funny, but the last time i tried it (before posting) I couldn't get it to
work, but it does now, weird...

Calculus,
Thanks for the FAQ on VB(A) to manipulate Extra objects. It's great! The only question I have is you indicate to declare Public Sessions As Object. When I'm in a Word 2000 macro, I get an error with this statement however if I simply Dim it it works. Is this acceptable?

Yes.

You probably have option Explicit on which is fine (most programers say it's prefered).
