I am trying to use an excel file as a database to write a report in Crystal 10. Some of the fields are coming over blank when there is a number in the field. Is there something specific I should do to the excel file to make it work for the database? Thanks

Make sure there is a value in every cell. A space or characters in a column will convert a numeric column into a text column.

I often use a MS access database with a link table into a XLS spreadsheet so Crystal has a real database as the initial source rather than direct into a spreadsheet.
