I am trying to set up the AutoUpdate feature on the EPO console, but it dont seem to work. I have created a share(made it a null session) created the task etc, gave the client side agent a awake up call and in the log I can see it pikc the new task up, but it dosnt actually apply it, even though there are no errors. Any idea's???

By that you mean the shared folder (null session)? Or does the repositroy need to sit on a different server?

I'm assuming you are using v3.0 or v3.01 of ePo. The repository is the storage location for all your AV software including DATs and engines.

I'm using 2.5.1. The instructions I saw say to create a share with the update.ini file and the dat.zip files in it, make it a null session share(registry) and then create a task-select VirusScan 4.5.1 AutoUpdate, set it to run as sson as poss. Untick inherit in settings and point the task to the shared folder. From the client logs i can see the process taking place, can see the task by name being picked up, but nothing actually happens on the client.

Back when we used 2.5.1 we setup an ftp and in the folder for the ftp we had exactly the same files as ftp://ftp.nai.com/pub/antivirus/datfiles/4.x/. The first thing I would do is add the files that are missing when you compare your folder and NAI's folder. Then double check your settings for the task as to where the task is looking for these updates.
