Hi; I have a report that when run, the query asks for a date. I want to insert a subreport, so that data is displayed like in the original report, but only advanced 7 days. So date = Date + 7 days. If I insert the original query or a copy as the source for data for the subreport, how can I get the subreport to pull the data for the 7 days after the date entered? When I try to enter the expression,
date: ([enter beginning date for schedule] + 7) and then run the report, it runs the first query and asks for the date, but then says that it doesn't understand the expression built in the 2nd query. Thanks in advance for any help.

Try using the DateAdd function instead of just putting +7 at the end.

I would also suggest taking criteria gathering to the next level. All the database I see have this built in Access functionality of bracketed text to gather criteria. I personally think this is lazy and unprofessional. I would take any piece of software I purchased straight back to the store if I saw something as poorly coded in it as this. I know everyone uses this feature, but come on guys we are all supposed to be professional and some of us even experts at what we do. So I suggest spending the 15 minutes and creating a few simple criteria form. I have several I save in a secret place that make me look like a genius on a regular basis. With a few text boxes and a little ingenuity you can create a very professional looking pop up criteria form that will give you all the flexibility the [] in Access lack. You can keep this form open and simply hide it to use the once entered criteria in as many different places as you wish. Just keep referring back to the original entry. I think that if we all spent just a few minutes on the little details like this the world would be a better place.

Thank you all for letting me get that off my chest.

zencalc,

I hope this helps out a little.
