Hello,

my problem is the next: I retrieve a lot of detail-lines from our database and want to display the data in several ways. I can do that in a number of crosstabs, no problem. But in the crosstab, it is not possible to diplay all the things I want. So I must make a manual crosstab.
Now: is there a way to make more than one manual crosstab with only retrieving tha data once?

Jeroen.

Only if you insert the second cross-tab as a sub-report.

How? When I insert a subreport based on the same data, the data will be retrieved once more?

Jeroen.

Use the same data-source and selection criteria in the sub-reports, and a "duplicate" set of data will be returned.

Note : sub-reports can hinder overall performance, since you have to query the data-source twice.

MJRBIM,

thanks uyntill now!
But: when you say that that the datasource will be queried twice, I have to wait double the time?

And another problem: I would have to place a subreport in a subreport which seems to be impossible...

Jeroen.

It won't be double the time, since the connection to the datasource (authentication, etc) is already in place from the first pass.

However, you are correct - you can't have a sub-report within a sub-report....BUT you can have multiple sub-reports in the same Main Report.

Hope this helps...
