using css to change image colour....

I ahve a client who has had 150 maps on his site that look GREAT when you look at them but SHIT when printed.

They are a mix of dark colours, so when you print them on a black and white printer, you get one big dark blob.

Is the some way I can

(1) Attach a for print only style to the image.
(2) Make one of the colours white instead when printed?

you can't change the image with CSS.

Very quick to come up with a negative answer Chris.

In the tiem it took me to post and you to respond, I found this

.classname {
filter: Chroma(Color=?);
}

which in fact does exactly what I need it to do.

I can put this style in a for print style sheet only, and when the page is printed, I can specifiy the colour I want to be masked, and it prints white.

If they do what you need, perfect. I just don't even consider using the filters as they are browser specific (IE only).

You are right, so its only going to work for about 93% of users(stats from site users on ie) which is a pain, in other browsers I will have to show a message.

Its a short term solution while I redo their maps, so is better than nothing.
