Hi All -

I have posed this question any number of ways over on the point of sale forum but to no avail...

I am running Aloha as my restaurant POS system. Aloha can be configured 2 ways, one with a SQL DB and one with a native Aloha DB.

I orignally used the SQL DB config and could get the data I needed as a master DB was created that consolidated data.

In order to use an online ordering tool I had to switch to the native DB. Here is my problem and question.

Aloha stores daily sales data in the following way
c:\Aloha\Dated_Sub_Dir\indivudal_DBF_files

For example todays sales data would be:
c:\Aloha\20070208\GRINDSALES.DBF

There is an individual DBF file for each different type of Data. (Sales, product mix, employees, etc)

What I want is simple. I want a report that displays the date and the total of the daily sales for that date (Gross Sales). Atleast that is what I want as an example:)

If you use Aloha's reporting function to pull a range of dates it sums the data which isn't useful to see a range of days on a graph. It does have a 'weekly report' that gives individual data by day but that is only good for 7 day periods.

Finally, on to the question:

How do I use crystal reports to query data that is stored in folders with different dated sub directories like I described above?

(My crystal reports knowledge is minimal but I do have CR XI and can figure it out if pointed in the right direction)..

THANK YOU!

When adding the database to the report, choose Database files, then browse to your dbf files. Do this for each file you need to use.
You may have some idx files - these are indexes, add them where relevant.
You may be limited on join types.

Best of luck

Andrew
