I am attempting to connect to an Iseries (as/400) using CRystal. I am connected to this same Machine through a VB program with no problem. However, when I create a new connection in the Database expert in Crystal, The connection only has one library under it and it is my personal library. I suspect this has something to do with the way the connection uses my UserID. I could live with getting just one library If I could specify the library.

Any help is appreciated.

Try using another user id (perhaps an admin).

Are you using ODBC? Are there options on the ODBC driver?

Hi

I use the IBM Client access odbc driver to a V5R1 os/400
with service level of Sl10376
Create a ODBC System DSN using the Client access driver(ver 8.00.07.00)

The main points to change when creating a DSN,

User the General Tab, click on the connection Options button
Default User ID: Use Operations Navigator
Signon dialog prompting: Never prompt for SQLConnect
Security: Do Not use SSL
Click Okay

On the Server Tab
SQL Default Library: your library name
Library list: leave blank

Click the advance button
commit mode:Commit Immediate

Under the Packages tab
Package library: your library name(Same as before)

Under The Translation tab
Enbale Convert binary data to text

You can play around with the performance tab to increase the Record blocking but its only a performance issue.

Thats it.

It sounds like you are not using the same DSN from VB and CR.
All of my reports are from CR and Enterprise and using the ODBC driver works fine.

Try it and let me know if you have any issues.
