using com ports

i am new to vb6 and need help with com ports.

i want to write a program that will send hex data to a radio
and also will recieve data from radio.

the form will have buttons that will have code assigned
to each to send different commands to radio and form will recieve data from radio. user will select which port and
the bodrate. what would the code look like. cananyone send some kind of sample to get me started.
