Using Collection Plans for Quality Assurance needs

The company that I work for is in the process of implementing an Oracle ERP (11i) system. They want to use the collection plans to handle our Quality Assurance needs (Customer submittals, Audit Tracking, etc...). I am trying to find anyone who has tried this and find out what kind of sucess you had.
