I have two sites, each site has a router that distributes data to the site's network. Each site also has an ISDN phone line. I have my SPIDS for the ISDN lines. I want to use the routers ISDN BRI interface to be able to dial up the other site's number when computers from this network want to access data at the other site's network. I am new to setting up ISDN with routers. Since I am using these basically as phones, I do not have an IP address for either router (for the BRI interfaces). The information I have is the SPIDS for each line. What do I need to set up in each router so that I can acheive this? What parts of the BRI interface? do I need to set up a Dialer ?

Thank you for any help as I am still trying to gather information and learn!

You need to have your ethernet port activated, IP address for your WAN and your LAN. Configure accounts w/ passwords and authentication (PAP/CHAP) and a few other things. If you plan for these computers to be networked (i.e. sharing resources, logging into a domain, copying files, netmeeting, etc.) you will need to setup your router properly. The Cisco 2600 is a router, not a modem. If all you want to do is dial a connection between 2 computers you should just use cheap ISDN modems (3COM, Promptus, etc) and install Dial Up Networking Server in Windows.

You are going to have too much difficulty getting these sites talking with Cisco.

Good luck,
Lazarus
