Using Chinese font / Mac InDesign 2.0

Can anyone please throw some light on this?

I can both input and display Chinese font characters in Photoshop 7 and Illustrator 10. When it comes to InDesign 2.0, although the input method is same and fine, the text box doesn't display the Chinese, only some strange symbols.

Do I need to 'activate' or 'localise' Chinense language / fonts on InDesign? When I 'Get Info' on Photoshop and Ill. both these have Chinese language enabled. InDesign does not show this language option?
