Had a goober of an employee jam some kind of adapter into the cash drawer port on a P1515. He either fried the port or bent the pins; whatever the case may be the cash port is no longer working and I've got a puzzle to figure out.
I'm attempting to set up the cash drawer to fire off one of the com ports.
I downloaded and installed the Serial 1220 and OPOS drivers onto an old P1515 I had for testing purposes. The cash drawer is an APG series 4000, it is plugged into a serial adapter to ethernet adapter in port 1. The cash drawer configuration is as follows:
Type: OPOS Cash Drawer
Terminal: Term 1
OPOS Name: RSSerial.COM1
There are no other devices assigned to com1.
When using the Radiant Hardware OPOS Test I get Failed to Open Cash Drawer Controller (107)101 : 0 error on ports where OPOS device (including the cash drawer) are assigned. In other words I have the Cash drawer assigned to com1 and printers on com3/ com4 so the error appears on everything but com2. Com2 shows the current drawer state to be open. If I switch the drawer to com2 I get the error on com1. If I plug into com2 the drawer state remains on open.
