Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has any tips when using/animating Bitmap images in Flash.

I've found that using PNG files (Files are for CD-ROM, so file size isn't an issue) are the best for transparencies and quality.

However, I've found that rotating the bitmap and even scaling down the image will result in jagged edges and poor resampling.

So I guess my question is this, Is there are dedicated Bitmap file format for using with flash?

Any help would be much appreciated.

.png is the best option for Flash in my experience - even though the file size looks huge when you export from Photoshop or Fireworks, Flash actually compresses all it's images as if they were .jpg so the .png ends up jpg-sized in Flash but with the advantage of transparency.

Unfortunately the second you manipulate the image in any way in Flash (by scaling or rotating it) it will break up and there's no way around it.
