Is anyone using Avaya one-X communicator sip 6.2 on a cell phone or ipod? Does it work? We have two Ipod touches (5th generation) and they have ios 7.1.2 on them. We loaded this app onto them and they have one way audio when someone tries to use this app on them. I can hear them, they cannot hear me. Avaya says their app is working fine and that it is the Apple operating system. I really need to get this working!

It's tough to say.. are the users on the company network or outside? If they're outside they'd be coming in via an SBC, which adds a layer of complexity. Internally, it would be registering to your Session Manager and in either case you have to ensure your dial plan is setup properly. One way audio is a pretty decent start to having it working. There's good documentation out there to set it up. As far as apple's operating system, I'd think AVAYA ensure's their product works with the various versions of OS and if it doesn't it would specify in release notes.

it worked until the ipod touches upgraded to 7.1.1. Then it started doing the one way audio thing. Avaya had me use the iphone configuration utility to send them console logs. They said their app is working properly. They are telling me its the operating system. My question is why would it cause the one way audio. I will double check the dial plan. We have other extensions not using sip that are ip that are in the same extension range. We are testing inside only right now.

If it worked on the latter OS version then that could very well be the issue. Can you downgrade it in the interim to get it back functional? I'm sure AVAYA development will get enough complaints and write a fix for it. Apple sure as hell isn't going to do anything.
