Hi,

I know its not good to cross post but as this query covers several different threads I feel I would get the best responses from also posting to the following forums:

Citrix Solutions
Microsoft: Access Modules (VBA Coding)

(If you are annoyed by this then I apologise in advance)

We're currently in the process of swapping over to Citrix Metaframe from Windows NT.

We currently have several Microsoft Access 97 Databases which use automation to capture information from Attachmate Extra! Personal Client (Version 6.3). This works quite nicely under Windows NT and works quite nicely under Citrix, when the 2 program instances are opened on the same server. However I anticipate problems... We have 14 Servers and I know we can force programs to open on the same server, however the IT department are unwilling to do this because it will upset the server load balancing and reduce the efficiency of the system.

I'm looking for potential solutions to the following problems and any pointers from anyone who has been in the same situation:

1. How will Access97 be able to differentiate between several instances of EXTRA!(opened by different users) opened on the same server. (i.e how can I make it know which instance it should be interacting with?) Would each instance carry a unique identifier that access could capture and use to "lock on" to the correct session?

2. How can Access97 talk to EXTRA! when the 2 instances are opened on different servers? Is this even possible?

All suggestions or pointers would be much appreciated as I cannot find much on this kind of problem.

Many Thanks

Craig
