Using an Ericsson GS18 CellPhone with Linux.

Does anyone have any idea why, when connecting an Ericsson GS18 cellphone, to a linux mail server as the dialin line the following happens:-<br>

The phone will answer and just wait instead of sending a ready to receive signal. This happens untill the connection times out.<br>
<br>
Perhaps someone out there has used the GS18 and found a way round this problem.<br>
