I thought there was a way to transfer (for management with WinSPM) into a system with an AA instead of the calling and having the operator transfer you in. If so, what is the method? I do have access to the aa and can add extra selector codes that you specify. Thanks!

Got It! Took me a couple of hours but well worth it. Using your concept - I set up selector code 9 on the day and night menus to hit extension 41 (analog phone port) (for example) which is tied physically with a patch cord to an unused analog trunk port (lets say port 802) I needed to double check the programming on the AA as unless you go all the way through till she says menu saved... its not.

When dialing in it transfers over and you hear a double or triple dialtone flash... this turned into the system hinting.. I want a barrier code! So went back into winSPM to the barrier code section and (probably should not have) but changed the code length to 4, which wiped out all previous codes. Then I entered a new code , 4 digits.

Tried dialing into the AA again and entered 9 to get me to the ext 41 to remote access port.. (oh yeah, have to make the 802 line a remote access, dedicated port - although shared might work - but not for testing this out)

OK called into the AA and when i got the dial tone flash or bounce, I entered the barrier code and got a steady dialtone, now I entered a *10 to get to the modem and finally got the modem handshaking sounds. Yeah!

Now its on to configuring the dialing string from WinSPM with pauses and the extra key presses to get into the system automatically.

Could you fill in the blanks for what the shared choice does when setting up the line for remote access? I probably wont have a dedicated line at the site I wish to remote program during off hours when I can test the system more readily.

Thanks for the help, entering the commas and pass codes worked fine but then got to the system password box after hand shaking, and found I needed to enter a 7 digit pass on the first sysprog page in winSPM standard (locally connected) I entered the new passcode til I saw the reenter passcode prompt then did it again. I had no idea how many digits it wanted initially, it seems to be at 7 on my box. Then logging in worked fine remotely, pretty stable too for programming, not like a partner! (I write all these details in case I need to re access the info or someone else needs it really spelled out.. : ) )

There IS a way to do it with an Automated Attendant directly, but 1) you must know the unpublished code to "dial yourself in" (it's not what you think it is) and 2) it must be done with Merlin Messaging. It does not work with the 007MLM. For that, you have to use Jack's trick.

Send me an email if you want to try this a different way.

The shared remote access will only answer the line if the system is in night mode. That way the line can be used for regular service during the day, and remote support at night.
