Hello everyone,

We are using an altaddr(s) for two of our XPe servers so that people at home can connect via the internet...

Question: Is there a way I can prevent a SPECIFIC USER from connecting FROM HOME using the alternate address to this server (w/out changing the altaddr)??? I want them to be able to connect at work BUT NOT HOME. Is this possible?? Oh, I have to keep the altaddr live too- so I can't just delete it... ???????????????

Thanks in advance!*!

Brandon

Hi,

Can you configure your firewall to only allow specific IP addresses or range of addresses so that users with ISP IP addresses can't get through? Or are all your external users on DHCP addresses?

Or...limit that specific user to only beable to log in during working hours Monday to Friday!!

If I think of more, I'll post something!

Cheers,
Carl.

Thanks Carl...
Good idea- ...However, I'm not sure if I want to get all that crazy with allow this or don't allow this address... There is only one user that I don't want to be able to connect from home... BUT we have other users from home that have to be able to connect... Before long, I'm sure the access list(s) would get crazy on me!

I don't want to set times for Monday thru Friday because this user may come in on the weekends... ya know?

BUT HEY, I'm open for ANY ANY other ideas!
Thanks again for your suggestion(s)!!

Brandon

Why don´t you limit the user in the user´s properties by computernames in "Active Directories and Computer" ?
