Using Aloha Manager and what I am trying to do is get routing correct with modifiers.

Example: We have a 'create your burger' option that allows guests to add an egg to their burger. I currently have the egg item under an add-on burger option, set up to "show modifier independently." This allows the burger to show on the Burger Station monitor, and it allows the egg to show on the Breakfast station monitor (with the message that it belongs on a burger). This works great, as long as there is only one burger at a time. When there are multiple burgers, the kitchen does not know which burger the egg goes on. The main Expo station does see this, however.

I'm looking for a way that the modifier shows up either a)independently as well as saying which burger the egg belongs on. OR b) the modifier stays with the burger, and the burger goes to both monitors.

Thanks in advance for any help

if you used pivotal seating then it would have S1 S2 S3 for each seat number. then if Egg showed at the egg station it would have S3 Over easy, At burger station you would have S3 Burger.
Or you could use your paper and have burger with Egg show up as both station and remove print independtly.

Have you created a rule in your routing rulebook specific to this circumstance? I don't know that you want to show modifier independently so the expo and egg guy will know which burger it goes on. Create a rule that is something like:

When item is CYO Burger and modifier item is Egg route to stations Egg, Grill and Expo.

Make sure you move it to the top of your routing rules as it looks down the list until criteria is satisfied.

hope this helps!

We do use Pivotal Seating when entering in orders, however I have never seen this translate to any screen but the Main Expo. I did create a rule in the rulebook and placed it at the top, but this also didn't help. I appreciate the responses!

Are you using New Aloha manager or Old?
Table service or Quick Service?
There is a check box you can add to print independent when used as a modifier. Its in on the item in Item maintence. Look in the Misc tab

The print independently box is unchecked. I'm looking for the modifier to go to the station it gets cooked at, and the item to go to the station it gets cooked at, but yet still show that the modifier goes on the Item. When I had it so that the modifier doesn't split from the item, the modifier (egg) doesn't go to the Breakfast station, but it stays attached to the Item at the Burger station. It seems that it's one or the other.

In addition, somehow through this process, I've now made it so that when the Egg modifier is added to a Burger, the ticket will not print from Expo until it's bumped off of Expo, not after it's served off from the Kitchen, as everything else does.

you need to setup routing rules in NAM like when item is burger and modifier is egg route to station grill, fry, expo or whatever it may be. The rule would need to be at the top of your rulebook because it works from the top down until it satisfies the criterias.
