Using AD login credentials to access CCMA

I'm reading about how Security Framework will allow CCMA users to access CCMA via their network login credentials. It also seems to indicate you have to have System Manager or UCM for this to work.

Is anyone using Security Framework? Does it require UCM or System Manager or can it work stand alone with Active Directory?
