Using a USB Foot pedal

I have a sneeking suspicion this is one of those scenarios you dont want it to work.
Push pedal goes to talk to server server want to talk to dictaphone whatever then has to push sound back to server and then back out to client.
I wouldnt even begin to contemplate running this in a citrix environment to be honest.
