Using a text file

Hey Everyone,

I need some help figuring out if I can do this. I'm looking for resources or sample that could do the following.

I want to use a vbscript that will search a text file that will contain some information, but in the text file I only want to retrieve certain portions of it based on a variable that I already declared in the vbscript.

text File example:

[Section1]
bla bla bla

[Section2]
bla bla

If anybody can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

Is it an ini file type of thing? - take a look at faq222-3454 it shows you how to use xml instead of ini file for that sort of thing.

Hi,

I always look at msdn.microsoft.com first and then take it from there - the keyword search in this site is pretty hndy as well.
