I'm not sure I can do this, so here it goes...I have a user that needs to print shipping manifests and bills of lading from access. The thing I'm not sure about is this; when the report is generated, I want my user to be able to select shipping descriptions from unbound combo boxes with a select query data source. The shipping descriptions don't need to be stored in a table, just printed to a manifest or BOL. Is this possible, and is there a right way to do it?

You can do this by putting a text box on your report then putting the following in the text box's Control Source property:

=Forms!yourformname![yourformnamecomboboxname]

I just tried this and it worked for me. However, if your combo box has a bound column, you might need to do a lookup on the bound column to the actual shipping description you want to show on your report.

Good Luck.
