Hello All,

I would like to designate the network adapter to use for backups on my Netware 6.5 server running BE 9.1.
It has two gigabit nics and I have one setup with a 192.168.x.x address. The client server is the same exact setup, with a nic setup using the private addressing scheme. I can ping from each server, so I know connectivity is good. But I can't seem to find where to pick a network adapter to use for backups. I believe the Windows version has this, but I am not having luck in Netware.
Anyone ever do this? Any help is very appreciated.

I have found that article, but the servers have dual nic's and I feel like i am missing something. Should that configuration work regardless of multiple IPs on a multihomed server?

Yes, the servers must have at least two NICs (that are NOT teamed, each with it's own IP) for this to work.

Assuming both the Media server and the remote server are Netware, you make entries like you would to your HOSTS file to the NDMPSVRS.DAT file listing the media server and the remote server. E.G.
Media_Server_Name 10.1.1.1
Remote_Server_Name 10.1.1.2
substituting the correct names and IP addresses (this would be the IP of whichever NICs you want to use). Then put identical copies of NDMPSVRS.DAT on the media server and the remote server. Restart the BE services and it should work.

Still haven't been able to get this to work correctly. I didn't mention that it's a clustered server with virtual ip's. I think that's where I am having the problem. I will continue working the issue, maybe there's something simple to be done.
thanks for the suggestions!
