Hi Everyone,

I am using MS Query/Excel to build a query, and due to the data structure there is some "Or" logic involved. And for all three sets of criteria, I use a parameter for the start date.

The problem is that if I use three [Enter Start Date] parameters (one for each set of criteria), even if they are identical, it makes the user input the date thrice. That is silly and repetitive, plus it leaves room for my client to make an error in entering the date on any one of those three entries.

I KNOW there has to be a way around this...can anyone please assist?

Thanks!
Rayna

hi,

Is the user entering data on a cell in your sheet?

No - double clicking on the .dqy file to run it and then the parameter box(es) pop up for the client to enter dates into. :)

If you query WITHOUT the .dqy file, you can have the parameters reference a cell that your user can enter a date in ONE TIME.

Open the dqy file and COPY/PASTE the contents, for help using this method.
