I have not heard of this being done and thought I'd ask here.
I have a boss that wants me to bring a WIN2003 server down remove one of the mirrored OS disks and install it in a different server that has no OS on it and start it. Sync the drives on the new server, bring it down and remove the original disk and reinstall it back into it's original server and bring it back online. Install a clean second disk on the new server and resync. Then we can eat some SMore's and sing kumbya.

Only if the hardware is identical otherwise you will have driver issues.

If it doesn't leak oil it must be empty!!

My apologies, NortonES2 is correct. I assumed the hardware would be identical.

I have tried this on identical machines and it worked perfect - no issues. But have not tried it on non-identical machines.

Thanks folks. I apprieciate your assistance and guidance.
