Using a ME3400 L3 Switch to implement Multi-VRF

Ladies/Gents,

Please take a look at figure 32-6 in the following Cisco documentation.


My question regarding implementing VRF's is this. According Cisco's own documentation the ME3400 does not support layer 3 trunks, therefore making the configuration of the PE switch in the diagram impossible.

However would it be possible to use the same configuration between CE and PE but instead use a layer 2 trunk and then terminate them on an SVI in the PE switch.
