Morning all,

I'm trying to configure my Firebox 1000 to use a MS ISA server as a caching proxy server. I've configured the firewall correctly (or at least I think I have) but I'm not 100% sure I've got the proxy server set up right. can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Rob

Is the ISA Server configured as a proxy cache server only (not firewall or integrated? Do you have one NIC or 2 NIC's?

We use the Watchguard as our external firewall and the ISA as a internal firewall. It works well.

basic config diagram is...

Internet====>Watchguard===DMZ Zone===>ISA Server===>Private Network.

What kind of problems are you having?

Dan

I installed it as a cache server without the firewalling bits. It's only got the one network card. When I enable the caching proxy server on the firewall, I get error reports from the ISA server stating that the url is forbidden! I've tried anumber of common sites,google.co.uk microsoft.co.uk etc.

Do you have the gateway on the ISA server set to go to your watchguard? Can you browse the internet from the ISA Server? Can you ping the watchguard from the ISA Server?

Dan

Errm, yes yes and yes. I'm wondering if I've set one ofthe rules up wrong. also I'm going to take a look at the LAT and see how that is configured.
