We have a user who is using a dial-up Earthlink account at the satellite office. I tried creating a dial-up ICA connection for to reach our servers but keep getting the "Citrix server not available" error. I have tried both PPP and ICA dial-in.

Since our servers were configured by an outside vendor before I joined the company, I don't know if this is a software or hardware issue. Can anyone shed light? Thanks.

In the connection are you using a name for the server or the IP address? Try the IP address.

If that does not work, this is also the message you get when you have run out of Terminal Server Licenses, (not Metaframe Licenses).

I used the IP address.

I check our terminal license manager and found that duplicate licenses are being issued to some machines and I can't delete them. Does this mean I need to reinstall the license server?

Yes, that should clear those out.

But, remember that you need a Terminal service license for every COMPUTER that connects. Windows 2000 and XP clients have a license built in, but WIN9x pc's do not.

For example; If 25 win9x and 30 xp/2000 machines cinnect you will need only 25 Terminal service licenses.

Now, if a user connects from 3 different machines that could use 3 licenses if they all are Win9x.

Hope this helps.

We have about 80 people in the company and about 75 win9x machines. We have 80 CALs.

To my understanding, a CAL is local to a PC, so no matter who uses it, the same CAL is applied.

Try just launching Earthlink and make an internet connection. Then launch citrix program neighborhood and point your application set to your external IP (make sure your altaddr is set up correctly on your server) and check your firewall setting.

Are you successful??

Patiwaq - Not successful. From what I see of the TS licensing manager, I believe the license server needs to be reinstalled, but I would be open to other ideas.
